What is Olympic wegithlifting?

Weightlifting, also called Olympic-style weightlifting, or Olympic weightlifting, is an athletic discipline in the modern Olympicprogramme in which the athlete attempts a maximum-weight single lift of a barbell loaded with weight plates. The two competition lifts in order are the snatch and the clean and jerk.

I am new to Weightlifting, what should i expect?

When you first come to Torque Barbell, you’ll start out with a FREE intro session where you come in to go through the basics movements to for weightlifting, meet the coaches and athletes, and  go over your personal goals. Then, we’ll have you go through our intro program where you all the basics of Olympic Weightlifing.

FACILITIES:

Here at Torque Barbell we have all the essential equipment such as premier Olympic Weightlifting bars, Competition Plates, multiple platforms and squat racks, but we have cool toys you will love such as jerk and pulling blocks, sleds, yokes, power rack and dumbbells. We also have our newly installed showers to help you get cleaned up after a workout! The best part is the multiple garage doors, open pavement to play with sleds and yokes! Let's not forget our track, football field and baseball diamond for some friendly competition and training!

Do we do personal coaching and Programming?

Of course we do! We use a series of assessments to customize a program just for you!  We look not only at strength and mobility, but structural strength or your body to ensure you are using your body in the correct manner and safely to progress your training to your full potential.  To get started with personal training, click here.
